Lucas, buddy, old pal, brother, guy.... nice blog!
Biggest surprise for me is Nazem Kadri, he's playing the best hockey of his career and his putting up big numbers, acting as a true #2 centre for the Leafs, making it easier for the young guys to produce. Zaitsev and Marner deserve a mention as well for players exceeding expectations.
Biggest disappointment would have to be Rielly. On a team where he's obviously the most talented defenseman, and with all the energy coming from the arrival of Matthews, Marner, Nylander etc. You would have expected Rielly to take that "next step", to become the true #1 defenseman this team desperately needs. Unfortunately, he's had a very "meh" year and left alot to be desired with his inconsistent play.
Carrick is a disappointment? I'm disappointed in you Lucas. He's a rookie who plays bottom pairing minutes and does his job extremely well. You hardly ever hear his name which also means he hardly ever (frank)s up.
On the Marlies a large chunk of his points were on the PP which basically never plays.
I've been very excited about Carrick's development this year. I think we have four real legit D-men in Reilly, Zaitsev, Gardiner and Carrick.

Nice blog Lucas. Marner has been unbelievable. So far he looks like he would have been worthy of a first overall pick if he had gone in some other draft years. It's the most Opposite George thing ever for the Leafs to have not only won the Matthews lottery, but also to have picked fourth in the previous year and have it turn out to be an absolute walk-off grand slam of a pick.
